TELEPHONE  HERALD  SUES  FOR  LEASE
_______

Would  Compel  Pacific  Telephone  Co.  to  Furnish  Wire  Service.
_______

SAN  FRANCISCO, Oct 4.--The Telephone Herald Company filed a petition with the railroad commission to-day against the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company, claiming that the latter corporation has refused since August 13 to lease wires to them in this city. They declare that they are being discriminated against and that the Telephone Company rents its wires regularly to numerous other customers. Prior to August 13 the Telephone Herald Company enjoyed such a lease and furnished subscribers with entertainment, news, stock reports, etc. Refusal of the Pacific Company to supply them, they contend, is hurting them grievously and they want the corporation forced to restore their service.
