"RADIO BLOC" LATEST CONGRESS THREAT
Campbell Wants To Broadcast All House Speeches, But Westerners Object.
________
Washington, Dec. 12 (Special).--The newest threat in Congress is the "radio bloc."
Chairman Campbell, of the Committee on Rules, put in a resolution today to broadcast all House speeches by wireless, as was done for the first time the other day with President Harding's message.
Western members immediately revolted against having their speeches mingled with grand opera, weather reports and advice on rearing children.
"I certainly don't want my folks back home to hear everything I say," one Westerner objected, "and I'll join in the fight to prevent any such foolishness."
"My constituents would all desert if they had to listen to my speeches," protested another.
